Miranda Dohrman is a freelance clarinetist and instructor.  She has performed with the Atlanta, Charleston, and Greenville Symphony Orchestras, the Atlanta Ballet and Opera Orchestras, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, the Savannah Philharmonic, the Sarasota Orchestra, the Florida Orchestra, and the Orlando Philharmonic.  She has also performed in several musical theater productions with Broadway Across America, including Wicked, Evita, Mary PoppinsPhantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot, South Pacific, and West Side Story. She has often performed with Bent Frequency, a new music ensemble in Atlanta, and she is a charter member of Atlanta Chamber Winds, and the Balkan-style brass band Mercury Orkestar.

For the 2004-2005 season, Miranda was the Principal Clarinet of the Augusta Symphony Orchestra and the Augusta Opera Orchestra.  In 2005, she was featured in the Augusta Symphony's Encore Chamber Series, performing Mozart's Quintet for Clarinet and Strings. In 2007, she performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in A Major with the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra, where she was also Principal Clarinet. 

Miranda's recordings include performances with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under Donald Runnicles (Telarc), the Atlanta Chamber Winds (Albany), the Florida Orchestra (Naxos), and the New York-based new music ensemble Alarm Will Sound (Nonesuch).

Miranda is an enthusiastic advocate for chamber music. Upon arriving in Atlanta, she was clarinetist during the final seasons of the Pandean Players, an Atlanta-based chamber group.  Prior to that, she was clarinetist of the Augusta Symphony Woodwind Trio as part of their Educational Outreach Program.  In 2004, she was selected to be a Chamber Music Director for the Florida State University Honors Chamber Winds program.  Currently, she is an instructor for the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival.

Miranda maintains a private teaching studio and is currently on faculty at Agnes Scott College.  She also teaches clarinet and saxophone in Atlanta schools.  She has previously been an instructor with University of West Georgia, the Community Music Centers of Atlanta, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program.  She has led masterclasses and adjudicated competitions in the Tallahassee and Atlanta areas.

Miranda received her Bachelor of Music, Performers Certificate, and Arts Leadership Certificate from the Eastman School of Music.  While at Eastman, Miranda performed and toured with the prestigious Eastman Wind Ensemble.  Miranda completed a Master of Music degree at Florida State University.

Primary teachers include Dr. Frank Kowalsky, Dr. Deborah Bish, and Mr. Kenneth Grant.  Additional instruction includes Steve Cohen, Sidney Forrest, and Anthony Gigliotti.
